How do I book a chalet?
You can book directly through our contact form, by phone at +33 7 56 83 47 86 or by email at reservation@dahuwakefamily.com. Full payment is required to secure the booking. Cancellation is possible up to 30 days before the arrival date.
What amenities are included in the chalets?
All our chalets have a private shower room with toilet, heating, quality bedding and household linen, a private terrace and a loggia. A shared fully equipped kitchen is available on the bank, a few steps from the floating chalets. The gîte has its own fully equipped kitchen. Wi-Fi included.
Are pets allowed?
Small pets are allowed in our chalets, with a supplement of €14/pet/night. They must be kept on a leash on the estate and must not be left alone in the chalet. Please let us know about any pet when you make your booking.
What is the minimum stay?
2 nights minimum for the chalets and the gîte. 3 nights minimum in high season (July-August) and during school holidays.
Are there activities available on site?
The estate is ideal for fishing (carp, pike, zander, black bass), paddleboarding, float tube, inflatable canoe and relaxing by the lake. Nearby: Saint-Émilion (30 min), the tidal bore at Saint-Pardon, Libourne (20 min), cycle paths and the vineyards of Pomerol and Fronsac.
What is the capacity of the chalets?
The Boat Couple sleeps 2 people, the Premium Duo 2-3 people, the Crique 3-4 people, the Boat Friends 2 people and the Premium Family 2-4 people. The gîte can host up to 6 people (a sofa bed can be set up for an extra charge).
Can you swim in the lake?
Swimming is not allowed in the lake. However, you can enjoy the lake by paddleboard, float tube or inflatable canoe, with a life jacket provided. The lake is fed by natural springs, clean and well maintained. Access is from the pontoons or the landscaped banks. Water activities are undertaken at your own risk.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, free and secure parking is available at the entrance of the estate. Vehicles do not circulate inside the estate in order to preserve the calm and the natural setting.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out before 11 am. These times allow us to carefully prepare your accommodation between each stay. Contact us if you need a special arrangement.
Is the estate accessible to people with reduced mobility?
The gîte is accessible to people with reduced mobility (single level, adapted bathroom). The floating chalets, located on the water with walkways, are unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users. Feel free to call us to discuss your situation.
Do you offer special fishing packages?
Yes, see our dedicated fishing page for all the details: day rate €98 (up to 2 anglers included), additional angler €45, companion €25, child under 10 €15. No-kill rules and the species present are detailed on the fishing page. You can combine a stay in a floating chalet with fishing sessions for a complete experience.
Can the estate be hired exclusively for an event?
Absolutely. The estate can be hired privately for seminars, wellness retreats or private events for up to 18 people in double beds. A 75 m² room and a 35 m² room are available. See our Private Hire page and request your personalised quote.
How does payment work?
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your dates. For stays of a week or more, payment in 2 instalments is possible on request. We accept bank transfers and cheques. All the details are in our Terms and Conditions of Sale.
Is it cold in the chalets in winter?
No. All our floating chalets and the gîte are equipped with efficient heating. Staying in autumn or winter even has a special charm: cosy atmosphere, morning mist over the lake, fireplace in the gîte. And our low-season rates are more affordable.
